Dr. Ramsdell will discuss the work that resulted in the 2025 Nobel Prize: the basic mechanisms by which our immune system responds to pathogens without, in most cases, attacking our own tissues, and the implications of this work for the development of a new therapeutic paradigm.

Bio:
Fred Ramsdell is an immunologist, a Nobel Prize laureate, and an advisor at Sonoma Biotherapeutics, a biotechnology company co-founded by him. Fred was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Mary E. Brunkow and Shimon Sakaguchi for their work in peripheral tolerance.
